This is an interesting vintage 1950s-60s hybrid haori / samue kimono wrap coat in dark red and white shibori dyed silk. It started out as a haori, and someone has converted it to a samue jacket by adding an side button and loop, and tapering the sleeves down. There is no elastic in the cuffs like on a traditional samue. The sleeve length will be a little cropped, like a 3/4 sleeve when worn. There is also a snap on the lapel to keep the front closed and flat. It is lined. In excellent condition.
